Influence
"Nude Sdraiato" by Amedeo Modigliani
I am influenced by Modigliani's work because he not only captures the beauty and poise of the human body, especially that of women, he also found a unique way in which to portray them that is unlike any other artist. He elongates the faces as well as necks and other limps of his subjects creating a graceful and sophisticated; yet at times very simplistic image.
"The Sleeping Gypsy" by Henri Rousseau
Rousseau influences me as an artist because majority of his paintings are done not by observation, but through the use of his imagination. His childlike style is also very intriguing considering it continues to portray emotions and expression despite its lack of real depth in shade and detail.
